Love is law in this cold house and warms my freezing skin
He had to empty out my world, so I’d let Him back in
I still don’t think I’m good enough to deserve all His mercy
I just don’t know how He still loves me ‘cause I’d just turn and curse me
Love is law inside my soul, but sometimes can’t break free
‘Cause my broken, lying, stupid heart has made a mess of me
But just when I have given up and all is torn asunder
Here HE comes again to save me crashing down on fiends like thunder
Love is law despite my anger when I see your face
But how can I not let it go when He gives so much grace
I’m just so hurt and sometimes don’t think it will go away
But the more I love the more it heals my heart a bit each day
Love is law in this big universe all full of stars
And sometimes I think we forget how trivial we are
We’re tiny specs just orbiting in our own worlds together
Blinded by our own vast egos and our own unstable weather
Love is law is what is right, though, sometimes it’s so hard
‘Cause my soul is gettin’ thin and now I got some nasty scars
And more and more I’m drowning, and just can’t hold it together
I forget my faith, forget to love, and wanna stop forever
But Love is Law is somehow just this thing that keeps me goin’
Remeberin’ everybody else is hidin’ more than showin’
Rememberin’ everybody else is somehow just like me
We’re all tryin’ to just get by until our souls are finally free
L’amore è legge is the only life I see worth living
The world will die if we keep taking more than what we’re giving
And in the end it’s not a resume that seals our fate
It’s the love we give, how we forgive, and heal each other’s hate
