The following excerpt is courtesy of Purdue Theatre’s official website:

“Written in 2012, this dark comedy explores a futuristic society shortly after a global catastrophe. A group of survivors gather for support and recount an episode of The Simpsons for entertainment. Over the three-acts and 75-year timespan of the play, the story of the episode evolves to form a myth that influences the creation of a theatre performance and other forms of entertainment in the new society. This powerful, funny play evaluates the importance of art to humanity and raises questions of how pop culture influences our day-to-day lives.”
