WEST LAFAYETTE, INDIANA (Dress Rehearsal – September 22, 2021) – Purdue Theatre’s production of Sweat by Lynn Nottage and directed by William P. Caise is a frighteningly accurate depiction of factory life in a post-industrial America brought to life by a brilliant cast. Show will open September 24 at the Nancy T. Hansen Theatre in Yue-Kong Pao Hall of Visual and Performing Arts, and follow with multiple digital & In-person performances through October 3, 2021. The following excerpt is courtesy of Purdue Theatre’s official website:

“Filled with warm humor and tremendous heart, this 2017 Pulitzer Prize-winning drama tells the story of a group of friends who have spent their lives sharing drinks, secrets, and laughs while working together on the factory floor. But when layoffs and picket lines begin to chip away at their trust, the friends find themselves pitted against each other in a heart-wrenching fight to stay afloat. Inspired by true stories of union workers in Reading, PA, Sweat explores the underlying connections between racism and economics in a post-industrial US.”
