CHICAGO, ILLINOIS (March 27, 2020) – Midwest Hype, one of Chicago’s most extraordinary collection of musicians, recently released a surprise video for the track, “I Am I Am” from their upcoming full length vinyl Nightglow LP. The song is an original by the highly skilled gentlemen, and the video was done with a message in mind. Their statement accompanying the release on social media was a beautiful explanation of their work:

“I Am I Am” is a song about recognizing our human spirit. A mantra for our minds to repeat in simplicity and exaltation. Flourished with string arrangements and harp, we got to see our vision for our music manifest into a new sonic space. Paired with over a decade of footage we’ve captured over the years, we take a ride thru time and space and ask ‘Are my people in here?!’ and hope the universe echoes back, ‘I am, I am.’

The men stayed true to their word, and the video definitely carries a needed mantra for our minds. Their ride through time is a glorious adventure to partake in that evokes memories of a simpler time. It’s a dose of positivity the whole world needs right now all wrapped up in a delicious melody with thoughtfully smooth lyrics.
