DIMND’s New Spin the Moon Cosmically Captivating

DIMND’s New “Spin the Moon” Cosmically Captivating

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA (August 11, 2018) – I recently put out a plea longing for some new Sonny Boy Thorn music directed to the uber talented creators of the band. One of these magical musicians, the phenomenal David Dennis, made my new music dreams come true, but in a way I never could have guessed. Consequently, my original wish has yet to manifest, but the amazing David Dennis has given me and the world a gift we never knew we needed.

Dennis recently began a project with a new musical personality we’ve not seen from him before. DIMND is this new persona, and his recent and first song release, “Spin the Moon”, somehow simultaneously has the feeling of old school hip hop and new wave techno rap all rolled up into a shiny package made of stardust. This duality makes it appealing to a multitude of music lovers that will definitely be wanting more.

Now, I am not traditionally a fan of anything slightly electronic sounding, but somehow DIMND has won me over with an electrifying twist on an old ailing genre. A breath of fresh air of this magnitude has hardly been seen since the Beastie Boys breathed a new life into the universe with the iconic release of Check Your Head, and I’m left gasping for more. I imagine all across the cosmos new fans are being created every second via this celestial single.

“Spin the Moon” immediately and fiercely pulls you into its orbit from which there is no escape until the song ends. This aural kidnapping definitely comes with a sweet case of Stockholm syndrome, however, because by the time the song ends I am begging to hitch back onto that ride. “Spin the Moon” is like soaring along in a ‘63 Ford Galaxie on the smoothest roller coaster ever made. It’s like the Gravitron at the fair except there’s no nausea because the LSD is a REALLY good batch. It’s like the best dessert Grandma ever made laced with kind.

“Spin the Moon” starts off with a chill urgency that pulls the listener along subtly without the realization that they’re riding shotgun until the car is at top speed, and it’s too late to bail out. DIMND is in control of the wheel, and uses his beats to control his hitchiker’s every heartbeat like a professional street racer driving stick. Equally stellar is the imagery of DIMND’s lyrics that paint his aural audience right beside him in the melody’s passenger seat.

It’s obvious that David Dennis has skills aplenty in every work he has taken part in, but I don’t think anyone could have foreseen how versatile his genius truly is before the release of this phenomenal track. Here’s hoping the world will get to see much, much more of the cosmic brilliance of DIMND soon. Until then, “Spin the Moon” will continue to rotate in my playlist, and its classic timelessness has undoubtedly found this phenomenal new joint a home for infinity and beyond on this crazy, beautiful mixtape of our lives.
