LAFAYETTE, IN (May, 18 2018) – Digby’s Pub and Patio is definitely a staple in the prosperous yet quaint Hoosier community of Lafayette, Indiana. By day it is a restaurant of the highest caliber, but by night Digby’s slips on a little something more comfortable and becomes one of the top competing music venues in town. No matter whether it’s a local celebrity or out-of-town favorite Digby’s manages to tickle ear drums just as tenaciously as it does taste buds. One of the most recent musical marvels to stop by and raise the roof on the house was the funktacular band Groovin Soles.

Groovin’s soles immediately lit the house on fire with their fierce energy. Not even half way through the band’s first song the floor space had vanished being replaced by dancing soles and tapping toes by the numbers. They played vivacious originals as well as phenomenal renditions of very well-selected covers. Their version of Puscifer’sThe Mission” was so wonderous it could only have been improved upon by bringing Maynard himself to the stage with them. Every note Groovin Soles played was just as electric as the last, and the room glowed from the bright smiles vapidly spreading with the songs that sailed throughout the air.

It was definitely an epically wonderful time dancing in the warm glow of Digby’s that night. The spectacular venue staff always does their best to ensure every patron is happy, and even more so it’s easy to see that they actually care about the customers and their musical experience. This truly welcoming environment combined with the band’s glorious grooves made for a soul lifting experience for all who crossed that hallowed threshold. It’s certain that both Digby’s and Groovin Soles have inspired many, many more fans and supporters for many moons to come.

Melodie Yvonne

Melodie Yvonne, lead photographer and owner of Photographic Melodie, grew up in the small southern Indiana town of North Vernon. She picked up her first camera at the age of 5, and was immediately hooked. By the age of 15 she began to turn every trip, even just to the local park, into a fantasy scene of her own imagination, and started mentoring with many local professionals. Melodie received an Associates of Applied Science in Visual Technologies majoring in Photography from Ivy Tech in 2002 after studying under acclaimed professors and many other masters in the field.

Melodie’s main focus has always been music photography. Growing up listening to many amazing musicians inspired her dream to create visual images that made people feel the way they do when listening to music. Her goal was to help people SEE the music.

Melodie has done numerous jobs around the country ranging from working for bands to being the official photographer on many southern Indiana Poker Runs. Her specialties are in nature, music, and candid event photography. She published her first print work, a collection of images & poetry, in 2011, and has since published many more print works. Melodie currently acts as owner & lead photographer at Photographic Melodie, House Photographer for Purdue Theatre, and Tour Photographer for multiple Billboard Charts topping bands as well as freelance work with many other media outlets, venues, and musicians.
