Hunger

Through the darkness they trudged, creaking joints and growling moans filled the air with fear. They continued their frightful march with one goal, staggering their way toward the sounds of the living. Screams echoed out into the night as the children of long-lost survivors struggled to fend off the undead. Strike after strike, their childish swings had no effect on what was no longer living, and they would soon surrender to the fate that time had dealt them. Blood splattered on nearby buildings as the relentless creatures tore into them, ripping out organ after organ, until they were left with nothing. Just empty shells awaiting the same fate as the elders, to walk the earth in search of food.
