Taylor Raphel Taps Studio 37 for Shannon

Article & Photos by Melodie Yvonne

LAFAYETTE, IN (June 19, 2018) – Taylor Raphel recently had a big decision to make about who would be best to help breathe life into her first-born musical creation. It’s always a little challenging to navigate the music industry, but being in a strange, new town and just a young pup herself did not make things any easier. Fortunately, Taylor’s close friend, Nel Hoon, pointed her to one of the best recording studios around, Studio 37. Nel had already been a long time customer and friend of the business, and had a feeling that Studio 37 was the best place for Raphel’s style and sound.

Taylor only had to make one quick visit to know that Studio 37 was definitely the place for her upcoming first full album creation, Shannon. Taylor’s first effort is named after her biggest inspiration, Shannon Hoon, so bringing the album to fruition with genuine love means more to her than anything. She wouldn’t let just anyone meddle with her musical creation. Taylor quickly learned, though, that not only are Studio 37 partners, Scott Ausherman and Noah Freeman, some of the best around, they are also big Shannon Hoon fans themselves. This made the decision a no brainer.

Taylor’s first trip into Studio 37 to begin recording was a rousing success. Raphel’s artistic style and almost no-nonsense work ethic matched magically with Freeman’s flair for the craft, and a few songs were even one take wonders. It seems Shannon is only a hop, skip, and a jump away from full album completion, and not a moment too soon. It’s well-known that Blind Melon had a plethora of devotees as word of their talents spread before the release of their first self-titled album, and it seems that Taylor is following in suit to her idols. Her fan base is already growing rapidly, and they are more than ready for the album release.

It seems that so far fate has worked in favor of Taylor Raphel, and it’s easy to see why. She embodies her inspiration with glee, and shrugs off gossip with grace. She keeps her eyes on the prize, her drive on her dream, and doesn’t let any of life’s melancholy problems drag her down. The magic Taylor has created so far with Studio 37 is only the beginning, and it won’t be long until the whole world will get to see her shine.
